Is anyone else very ready for some sunshine? To help you get your wardrobe stacked for the *best* (sorry, fall) season, I’ve rounded up a bunch of cute spring and summer outfits for any kind of occasion They are the foolproof looks that work without being too much of a challenge or causing morning hysteria.
There’s little that beats a truly carefree summer wardrobe – and SS23’s looks a whole lot more light-hearted, nostalgic, and celebratory than I’ve seen for quite some time.
This morning on the Style Edit I’m sharing exactly what I’ll be wearing this summer. For those new here, The Style Edit is where I talk about the next biggest fashion trends seen around the web. Subscribe for more style tips! 🥂
Let’s dive right in!
1. Cozy neutrals
I just got this set a few weeks ago and have been wearing this NON-STOP! I have been getting so many compliments on this outfit that I just had to put this one at the top of the list.

2. School Uniform – checkered pieces & knee – high boots
It’s funny how, when given all the fashion options in the world, designers can’t help but default back to the safety of a uniform. Classic pieces and combinations you’d instantly associate with what you once wore to school have come back into the limelight, although the way in which they’re styled just might be more rebellious than you remember. It’s preppy but definitely not prim. The preppy look is tricky to master—at least, it is if you want to make it look grown-up—but María Bernad makes it easy with her tartan miniskirt, knee boots, and boxy blazer.

3. Ruffle some feathers 🥲
When it comes to 2024’s very extra-AF mood, nothing quite seals the deal like an outfit covered in feathers. Searches for “feather dresses” are four times more than this time last year, according to Google Trends, and even a cursory look on the high street will show that this is starting to hit the mainstream, with feathered pieces available at the likes of Kitri, ASOS, and River Island.

4. A Cute Floral Dress w/ Matching Accessories
If your closet has a long floral dress already – skip this one. Floral dresses are synonymous with spring and a must-have for any fashionista’s wardrobe. I shopped around and found the cutest spring 2024 dresses and linked them below. You’re welcome
5. The Leather Jacket
Leather outerwear is a big deal this season, and the jacket looks perfect with a white tshirt or black turtle neck.

6. The Ribbed Dress
Worn with a structured blazer and ankle boots, this trend is extremely flattering. Or if it’s too hot outside, throwing on a chain belt will give them some pizzazz.

7. The Sweater Vest
Sweater vest + Oxford Shirt + retro sunglasses. The Sweater vest continues for yet another year. Paying homage to light academia and dusty libraries, this is a stylish yet subdued look for an afternoon out in the city.
8. The Bra Top + loose layers
It’s not rocket science but it does just work: A lovely spring knit (in pastel hues and cardigan form is rather perfect) with your favorite true blues is easy to throw on but will always look pulled together.
9. Corsets
Corset top + straight-leg jeans + strappy sandals is a must for grabbing mimosas with the girls. WARNING: will make heads turn 🥵🤭😬

10. Jumper + Slip Skirt

11. Jeans + Tee + Bucket Bag
I know it’s obvious, but sometimes the plainest and most understated outfits really are the best. Look for the perfect fit in your jeans and tee. Then you can accessorize however you want.
12. Cut-out top + simple trousers
Black tops with simple cut-outs keep cropping up on the ’gram and in new-in sections. Wear yours with black trousers or jeans for a look that’s, yes, simple but also fashionable.
13. Beige Tones + Pearl or Gold Jewelry
Last year was dominated by beige, and this year has followed suit. Seek out every possible shade you can, wear them together and add a smattering of gold and pearl jewelry. Done.

14. Pleated Skirts
One of the most wearable trends to come out of this round of runways was the pleated skirt, and while there was a light scattering of mini incarnations reminiscent of this summer’s favorite tennis skirt, for SS22 it’s all about the pleated midi. Other than that, there really are no rules. Printed, plain, colorful, monochrome, paired with knits or paired with a bralette – as long as it’s pleated then you’re bang on the money.

15. Strap it up
Strapped accents have been gaining popularity over recent seasons, but it’s set to really take hold from summer 2024 onwards. Whether it’s a top with multi-straps across the shoulders and décolletage, trousers with a strapped waistband crisscrossing across the stomach – or, indeed, both – you’ll have to forgo any worries of awkward tan lines next season and embrace the straps.
