In a post-lockdown world where many were forced to stay indoors – I’ve noticed that people have been increasingly enamored with interiors and modifying their homes into an idyllic oasis. The newest trend is to create an aesthetic living room that can shelter us from this increasingly chaotic world, & inject a feeling of deep calm, balance, and tranquility by introducing fresh shapes, neutral palettes, and cozy materials.
This morning on the Style Edit I’m sharing the latest interior trend that’s popping up all over on social media. Something that can best be defined as being post-modern with a little Japandi twist. For those that have never heard of Japandi – just know that Japandi combines the mindfulness of Scandinavian Hygge (content coziness) and the Japanese theory of wabi-sabi (simple, incomplete, and beautiful aesthetics). The trend combines neutral tones, natural materials, and clean lines, exhaling an effortless feminine elegance within the home. Both Japanese and Scandi styles share the principle of simplicity, where the home should be calm, uncluttered, and minimalistic – a vibe.
