Outfits to fall for?:) Here are 15 outfits everyone will be wearing this fall/winter 2024 plus exactly how to recreate these looks on a budget! You’re welcome!!
As the weather changes, so too do our wardrobes. If you’re anything like me, we can agree on the fact that fall has got to be the greatest time of year for fashion. Cozy layers, cashmere, leather jackets, & pumpkin-spiced lattes, oh my!
While shopping for the latest additions to my capsule closet, I decided to put together a little list of must-haves for the upcoming season. These 15 outfit ideas are not your basic sweater and jeans combo – and you may actually get sad once spring comes along.
As always, I put together a list of “non-negotiables” for my when I shop – these help me be more sustainable while shopping. The pieces that I buy are:
- great quality (I want things to last for years, not months & are machine washable + easy to clean)
- budget-friendly (because I can’t afford to buy Fendi or Prada every year)
- staple pieces that will stay in trend for at least a couple of seasons. I am not a fan of fast fashion.
Time to grab your pumpkin-spiced latte, let’s go shopping!
This post is the latest from the Style Edit, where I share some of the biggest fashion trends I’m seeing online & on Pinterest, plus where to find the season’s most coveted items on a budget! I only recommend products I genuinely love.
1. Loafers
Loafers, oh loafers. These oxford loafers have been trending for a while now and I’m glad they’re still a closet must-have this season. Zara’s leather loafers literally sell out every time they hit the site, so below are some affordable alternatives that are still in stock.

2. Wool Dress
As someone who isn’t a centimeter over 5’5 in height and hourglass-shaped, it’s hard to find a maxi dress that cinches at the waist & hugs my curves properly. Finding the right dress is like finding Aztec gold – but don’t worry I’ve linked below some of the most flattering dresses below. I recommend pairing long maxi dresses with a big jacket, a sharp blazer, or a bomber jacket for when the weather gets colder.

3. 90’s Black Leather Jacket
I am currently being seduced by the array of transitional slim-line, long-length ’90s jackets. This jacket is bold and masculine, while also giving “model off duty” vibes. Not to mention these jackets are great investment purchases- they retain their value and you can resell it at the end of the season.

4. Back-to-school Chic
Even if you haven’t entered a classroom since the new millennium, there’s just something about the academia trend that feels a lil preppy, very moody, and just the right amount of “cool” for fall. The academia trend focuses on emulating the vibes of classic literature and romanticizing education—where pretentiousness is welcomed. Make it more grown-up with a plaid maxi skirt instead of a mini.
5. Nautical Stripes
In case you missed it, nautical fashion was all over the Spring/Summer 2024 runways. Refreshing as this trend is, it’s not entirely new: sailor collars and Breton stripes first gained notoriety in the 19th-century war effort, during which there was a growing demand for naval officers. Brenton stripes are the perfect statement piece for those wanting to give hints of “trust fund baby” to their outfit or just looking to add an elevated sense of Parisian luxury to a casual outfit.

6. Wrapped up in plaid
You’ll definitely need to invest in a blazer this fall — if you haven’t already! Plaid is not just for Gwen Stefani in her “No Doubt” days. It can also be incredibly timeless and effortless when done in structured, feminine pieces like a tailored blazer. Make the trend more Blair Waldorf than ’90s punk by pairing it with feminine accessories like a quilted purse and pointed-toe shoes.

Hear me out – I know there are plenty of people who will come for me when I admit that there’s a fashion item even better than jeans. The statement piece in question? Faux leather pants.
