Pearly, uber chic ‘Hailey Bieber glazed donut nails’ are officially the it-girl manicure of the year…and this post shares the magic formula to recreate the look by yourself at home! I’m also linking a $10 dupe Amazon reviewers have been raving about.
Though I never thought there’d be a beauty trend that would make people actually want to resemble a glazed donut, Hailey Bieber has turned me (and everyone else on the internet) into a Belieber—sorry, I had to! In case you didn’t get the memo, Hailey has been rocking a seriously glossy manicure that has been going viral. This look created by LA-based nail artist Zola Ganzorigt is subtle. It’s feminine. It’s chic. It’s—dare I type it?—downright confectionary.
Luckily, you don’t need the help of a nail tech to recreate the look. To achieve Hailey’s exact glazed donut look and texture, you’ll need some gel color, chrome powder, and an LED lamp. You best believe I’ve purchased multiple gel manicure sets in my life – and I swear by the Beetles gel polish kit or the Gaoy acrylic set linked below.

Step 1: Prep the nails
Nail prep consists of cleaning the nails of old nail polish and dirt, as well as trimming and shaping the nails. Prepping your nail bed will help the polish last longer and get you closer to a salon-worthy manicure, too.
Remove any old nail polish with an acetone-based nail polish remover and clip and file your nails to the desired shape. After you’re done grooming the nails and cuticles, right before you start applying polish, you’ll also want to wipe the nails with acetone or rubbing alcohol to ensure that the nails are clear of any oils that may interfere with how well the polish bonds with the nails. If needed, soak your fingers in warm water to soften the cuticles or use a cuticle remover (the Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover is my favorite) to make it easier to push cuticles back with a cuticle pusher and carefully trim away excess skin with a cuticle nipper.

Step 2: Apply the base coat
A base coat protects the nail from staining from color polish and will help extend the life of your manicure. I recommend the OPI Natural Nail Base Coat. Cure for 30 seconds under LED light.

Step 3: Apply white polish
Like glazed donut skin, glazed donut nails mimic the sweet treat they’re named after — particularly the slick and smooth layer of glaze that tops the donut.
To nail the look (pun intended), apply a sheer coating of OPI Gel Color in Funny Bunny. Cure for 30 seconds under LED light.
Step 4: Add a top coat
Follow with OPI’s GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat; cure again for 60 seconds, then wipe down the nails with an alcohol pad.

Step 5: Add shimmer
Apply OPI Chrome Effects in Tin Man Can to each nail using a disposable eye shadow applicator; wipe off the excess with a fluffy brush. Unfortunately for most of us common non-nail tech folks, OPI is not publicly selling Tin Man Can.
Good thing I found an even better solution. Not only is Born Pretty’s Chrome Powder long-lasting and non-toxic, but the powders go on super smoothly—making it the perfect dupe for the OPI formula used in Hailey Bieber glazed donut nails. But, the set includes 8 other shades to play around with. Translation? You can bring the glazed look to virtually every manicure.

Step 6: Seal the manicure
To finish the manicure, paint on a chip-resistant OPI Stay Shiny Top Coat for long-lasting wear. Take the same top coat you used to mix with the Funny Bunny (make sure to wipe off the brush or use a clean one after mixing the polishes) and apply a thin coat to your nails. Cure for 60 seconds.
