1. White Maxi-skirts
For many, the continuous arrival of new aesthetics or “cores” can feel overwhelming, especially because fashion nowadays plays into the idea of styles being “in” or “out”, forgetting that individuality sits at the heart of all personal style. One style that you can incorporate into your wardrobe for years to come is the white maxi skirt. There hasn’t been a day that I haven’t scrolled past some iteration of the style while on Instagram. It’s clear the fashion crowd will continue wearing these skirts straight through spring, summer, and likely, fall.
2. Smart Co-ords
If you’ve ever stared into your wardrobe and drawn a blank on what outfit to wear, then I’m about to introduce you to an outfit idea that can suit (pun intended), any occasion. Heralded by the style set as a smart, sophisticated and supremely classy combination, those in the know are shopping for matching blazer and skirt co-ords this summer. Throw in some cute black-framed glasses for a look that screams late-90s siren.
3. Leopard Print Revival
The iconic animal print is experiencing a renaissance, which is manifested by its omnipresent presence on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok as well as in major fashion retailers like Zara & Stradivarius.
4. Floral
Florals? For summer? Groundbreaking I know. From the runway to the streets, flowers are taking over in a riot of color and texture. The classic floral print is a way to embrace the beauty of nature with a blooming trend that’s impossible to resist.
5. Courtside
What a serve! There’s no denying that this year in particular, the world seems extra primed for a wave of tennis-inspired fashion. The appeal of tennis style comes from its proximity to luxury. Tenniscore is about looking like someone who frequents country clubs and keeps their preppy whites white; who slings a Loro Piana cable knit over their shoulders and downs a Spellegrino at tiebreak.
6. Kargo Skirts
Cargo skirts continue to rule. This is great news for all the bucket hat, slip dress, and bike short lovers out there – but less so for those hoping to never strap a pair of rollerblades on in the name of fashion again.
7. Romance is in the air
“Boho Romantic” is the aesthetic I can get behind. It’s the combination of two styles, blending the intricacy of romance with the fluidity and delicate nature of bohemia. It’s a little coquette, a little renaissance, but all in all, it’s soft and sweet.
8. 2024’s hottest shade
This year, there has been one trend that no designer or high-street store has been able to ignore. Cheerful cherry red has taken the runways and the street-style scene by storm as the shade du jour for the summer 2024 season. The bold hue continuously enamors us with its vibrant and joyful effect (dopamine dressing is very much still a thing) that is also surprisingly wearable.
9. Boho Is Back—And She’s All Grown Up!
There’s no better time to ease into the bohemian spirit than now since Boho dressing is officially one of the most talked about summer 2024 outfits. Before you start having flashbacks of costumey ensembles of the early 2000s (those randomly placed extra-wide belts still haunt us to this day), you should know that the best boho outfits look a little different this time around.
