Last year I tried Bullet Journaling for the first time and it changed my life! Not only has bullet journaling created some structure to the mess that is my life, it has also become an incremental part of my personal development journey and is helping me become a better version of myself. Today I will share all of my favorite budget bullet planner accessories so that you can get started ASAP!
With a Bullet Journal, you can have more creative freedom to design a system that will work for you.
For so many years I tried keeping a traditional calendar only to give up within the first week. Eventually, they would all end up forgotten and discarded at the bottom of one of my desk drawers. Calendar pages are so bland and boring, there are just not enough empty pages for my goals, habits, and thoughts. But then I discovered Bullet Journaling.
If you’re anything like me, you can spend hours scrolling through Pinterest admiring all of the creative Bullet Journal pages and wonder how they all did it. Recreating viral bujo pages is a lot easier than you think, you just need the right stationery to make things simpler.
So if you’re thinking about starting a bullet journal this year, or if you just want to step up your Bujo game a little, here are some of my must-haves that have changed the way I Bujo.
You don’t need a lot of money to start, in fact, there are plenty of cheap alternatives on Amazon that are high-quality, will last for years, and won’t break the bank.

The Journal
Of course, the most important thing is the actual Bullet Journal itself. You can create a Bullet Journal out of literally any kind of notebook – lined, plain, dotted. Not all budget bullet planner accessories are made the same! Definitely consider the quality of the pages when looking for your next journal.
The best kind of bullet journals are the dotted ones – and these can cost from $5 all the way up to $60. Here are a couple of Journals that are affordable and high-quality.
Minimalism Art Classic Journal
One of Amazon’s top choices, this notebook is a great choice if you’re looking for budget Bullet Journal supplies, since its half the price of other popular notebooks.
There are 192 pages of 100 GSM paper, and includes an elastic band, pocket, and a ribbon – everything you need in a Bullet Journal.
It also comes in 7 different colors, so you can definitely find one that fits your style!
Leuchtturm1917
I’d like to introduce you to the granddaddy bullet journal. The Leuchttermm 1917 is the highest-reviewed Journal on Amazon and at $18.95, it definitely won’t break the bank

This dotted grid Bullet Journal comes with a sturdy hardcover finished in mint high-grade PU Leather. It is stylish, durable and comes packed with features! The archival-quality pages are made from acid-free paper, ensuring long-lasting performance from one year to the next.
Bullet Dotted Journal Kit by Feela
This set is perfect for anyone just starting out with bullet journaling!
Get all of the necessary Bullet Journal supplies in one order! Included in the set is a 224-page bullet journal, fineliner colored pens, stencils, stickers, washi tape, and a black pen!
At only $30 for the whole set, I consider this a steal!
Star Right Bullet Notebook Journal Set
Another really cute set that includes a 260-page bullet journal, 10 color pens, 12 stencils, and 3 bookmarks for only $20!
Black Pens & Fineliners
Black fine liner pens are absolutely necessary for Bullet Journaling
I tried quite a few fineliners and among my favorites are the Staedtler Pigment Liners. I heard a lot from different Bullet Journalists that the best fineliner they ever tried was Faber Castell Pitt Artists Pen.
However, all these are on the expensive side. Don’t worry though, there are very good fineliner pens in a lower price range as well!
Uni-ball Signo Dx Um-151 Gel Ink Pen
My go-to pens are the Uni-Ball Gel Ink Pens because I can write/draw for hours without hurting my knuckles. These also won’t bleed through ANY page, so I would consider getting these before anything else.
Faber-Castell F167100 Pitt Artist Pen
Pitt Artist Pens are famous for combining a modern brush design with the traditional medium of India ink. Pitt Pens offer odorless, permanent, waterproof, lightfast inks in vibrant colors. The durable brush nib gives freedom to create versatile brush strokes with an even application of color.
Staedtler Pigment Liner
Coming from a well-known and high-quality brand, the set of 6 will set you back $10, pricing each pen at $1.6 USD. The varying widths of the pens will add depth and dimension to your doodles.

Colored Pens
Colored pens aren’t what I call a must-have, but they are pretty useful. They will make your pages stand out from one another! You can use them to doodle, highlight something important, letter, or just make your headers stand out.
Fine Point Colored Pens by iBayam
I honestly just got these colored pens because they had so many great reviews on Amazon and I’m so glad I did. I’ve used them for over a year now and they haven’t dried out. I bought this set of 18 different colored pens for $8.
Tombow Dual Brush Pen Art Markers
I remember the days back in high school when I lived in Istanbul and I was obsessed with these markers. I would have to go to the other side of town because there was only one store that carried these. I would willingly make the voyage every so often because the Tombow artist markers are the absolute best and highest quality watercolor markers on the market.
They are on the pricier side, a box of 10 will set you back $15.
Sunshilor Metallic Markers Fine Point
Coming in sets of 12 or 15, these markers are a steal. Metallic ink looks fantastic on black or dark-colored paper!
Watercolor – Prang
Perfect if you want to add a little watercolor doodle to one of your pages, this watercolor tray covers all the basic colors that you will need.
Washi Tape
I like to use Washi tape as a page marker to highlight different sections of the journal or on a specific page that I want to bookmark. Washi tape is my favorite hack on this budget bullet planner accessories list and has really taken my journal to the next level!
Agutape 48 Rolls Washi Tape Set
I use Washi tape around the edges of my pages to highlight different sections. Amazon has this great deal of 48 really cute rolls for under $8
52 Rolls Washi Tape
Just like the ones above, only a little girlier. So many designs! Really great deal for the price.
Yubbaex 24 Rolls Washi Tape
Something about this Washi Tape set is so appealing to me. These will be going into my Amazon cart when I need to restock my stationary.
Gorgeous Planner Stickers
You might not think that you need stickers but trust me, these come in handy. This pack comes with more stickers then you may ever even need – 1500+ stickers on over 30 sheets!!
Stencils
Stencils are great when you’re bullet journaling on the go and can’t be bothered by measuring things out. My go-to budget bullet planner accessories are colored pens and washi tape, but stencils really add another dimension to your pages,
12 Pcs Journal Stencil Set
I’m so happy I bought these!! I keep them closeby whenever I’m Bullet Journaling and have come in handy more times then I can count.
